For your towing test
When taking your B+E test, you’ll find you will be asked to check your towing vehicle and trailer combination before setting off – this diagram shows you how to go about it. And for best practice, it’s well worth making this a routine before any journey.
DON’T FORGET to check your indicators and lights – get a friend to stand behind the trailer, if possible, and watch the lights while you indicate left, right and then apply your foot brake to make sure everything’s in working order.
